Why am I being prompted for Device Approval? How can I approve the new device?

Keeper uses Device Approval to help protect your account from unauthorized access. When you sign in from a device that has not previously been approved, you’ll be prompted to verify that you trust the device before access is granted.

You can approve a new device using one of the following methods:

  • Keeper Push (recommended): Approve the login request from a device that is already approved.
  • Email: Receive a verification email and approve the new device.
  • Two-Factor Authentication (2FA): If 2FA is enabled on your account, you can approve the device using your configured authentication method.

For example, if you’re already signed in to your Web Vault on your computer and sign in to the Keeper mobile app on a new phone, you’ll receive a Device Approval prompt in the Web Vault displaying information about the new device. Review the request and select Approve or Deny.

Note: Security keys (such as YubiKeys or passkeys used for 2FA) cannot be used to approve a new device. If you don’t have access to an already approved device, use the Email approval option or another available device approval method.
