What are record types?
In Keeper, there are several different types of records available. Here are the current default record types:
| Record Type | Description |

| Login | The set of data needed to log in to a website. |
| Payment Card | Credit card information, used for autofilling forms. Can be linked to other records to reduce duplication. |
| Contact | Identity information about a person. Recommended for autofilling forms. |
| Address | Address information for a physical location. Can be linked to other records. |
| Bank Account | Banking information such as account and routing numbers. |
| File Attachment | Stores one or more files. |
| Photo | Stores one or more photos. |
| Driver's License | Driver's license information. We recommend storing scans of both sides. |
| Birth Certificate | Birth information such as date of birth and name. |
| Health Insurance | Health insurance account information and insured contact info. |
| Membership | Membership account information and name, including scans of membership barcodes. |
| Secure Note | Masked information that can be unmasked at will. |
| Passport | Passport number and expiration. We recommend storing a scan of the main page. |
| Identity Card | ID card number and expiration, plus a scan of the card. |
| Software License | Software license number and purchase date. |
| WiFi | Details needed to connect to a wireless network. |
| Database | Database type, hostname, and port. Primarily used with Keeper Commander. |
| Server | Server hostname and login info. Primarily used with Keeper Commander. |
| SSH Key | Public and private key strings, with support for attaching key files. |
| Custom | Business customers can create custom types for their users. |
These record types can be used to securely store and manage various types of information. For more information, see the Record Types documentation.
Pro Tip: "General" is Keeper's legacy record type. If you edit and save a General type record in the Web Vault, it will automatically convert to the Login record type.
